Let us know something about Chail palace in Chail,Himachal Pradesh, India. It is a palace but few years back turned in to a hotel. If you are planning to stay here then just a word of caution...they have 2 rooms which are lowest in tariff. But don't book these 2 rooms just because of the tariff. They are actually may be given to servants during the king's time. As soon as you go down and down the stairs your heart will start sinking and you start feeling from a queen or king to gradually a naani on the campus ? So preferably pay the next best tariff and stay in the ground floor. The first floor has Maharaja suite and Maharani suite which are worth a celebrity stay and the rest all premium rooms are good for luxury travellers.

The location of the palace and the food ,the dining hall everything is palatial and gives a very good feeling. I was lucky to be able to upgrade in to premium room after having a look in to the standard rooms in Chail palace. The booknig agent will never share this information with you. So beware of the standard rooms in basement. You have nothing to do staying in Chail palace except of course taking a trek to Sidh baba ki mandir. Again this trek starting from market is upward on a hill for 4 to 5 kilometers which you can enjoy while going and it takes less than 30 minutes when you are descending on your way back to the Chail market.
